Our Commitment

Our commitment to ourselves, our team, our visitors, and our community

1. Rahma – Guiding Mercy

a. Hospitality

  1. We commit to cherish all who come to us as honoured guests
  2. We commit to treating hospitality seriously

When Moona sees someone for the first (or fiftieth) time she greets them with a big smile, asks how they’re doing, offers warm tea and helps them find comfort. No detail is too small or insignificant to be done beautifully. Even if she only has a moment or feels rushed she tries to make people feel special, seen and important.

b. Outward Compassion

  1. We commit to provide services on the basis of need, not worthiness
  2. We commit to earnestly finding the good in others
  3. We commit to actively working to protect people from all forms of harassment, discrimination & gossip

Naila knows a certain client with a large family is always gruff, demanding and downright rude, but she finds a way to firmly assert her boundaries and support him; it's about her manners, finding ways to help & our mission, not his behaviour.

c. Collective Care & Safety

  1. We commit to investing in the health of our team: salaam, smiles, service, shared celebrations, and support in times of need
  2. We commit to warmly embrace faith expression without imposing our values on our team or those we serve

Suha & Mohammed’s Citizenship ceremony was a celebration for the team.

When a Muslim teenager was kicked out of his home and rejected by others he could still come to us knowing he wouldn’t be judged and still served.
